Boxing things up is bittersweet

Today has been another day of packing. The emotion and feelings of excitment continue to build as our day of relocating to Florida draw closer and the bittersweet feelings begin to fill my heart.
It has been an emotional last few days for me as we had our Christmas party at work; seeing that I have worked and taken care of some pretty amazing eldery men and worked with some really awesome girls makes the thought of saying goodbye next month and leaving a bit harsh, I know it's not goodbye as we will be coming home yearly to visit but I know in my heart that it "is" goodbye for many of my Papa's that I take care of... as they won't be here for very long. I think this is all of the part that makes leaving any place a bit emotional but the outcome and the magic that is waiting for Shawn and I make the bittersweet feelings so worth it :)
We are busy this week packing the things up that we are taking with us on the road. My Disney room that is floor to ceiling Disney; all of the breakable stuff is coming with us. I am more comfortable with us accidently breaking it then the moving company. While we were going to just drive a U-haul and then our vechile, it was much easier to pay a moving company to come in and pack us up and move us, just like the military do. I will admit, it is a bit pricey but in the long run, knowing that due to my past neck surgury I am unable to help Shawn lift any heavy items, the comfort in having them take care of everything, leaving us to just unpack makes the move alot easier and less stressful.
Our to do list keeps getting longer and it seems the days until our big move become shorter.I am ecstatic and can't wait until we are minutes away from those magical arches!

Turning our dreams into reality

Where do I begin.... For so many of us; Walt Disney World is always referred to as home. We look forward to going for vacation and dread the thought of returning home. In a sense, when we return to our daily lives, somehow the magic that we felt while in Disney just doesn't seem to be found in the real world.
For us and for many others, our dream has aways been to "live" in the magic of Disney. Just the thought of being a mere stone throw away from the gates that hold all of the magic in the world would be a dream come true. We always talked about moving to Florida someday.... and their was the word.... "someday". We learn when we really think about it that "someday" may never come and that's why we asked ourselves, what are we waiting for; the right moment, a sign, when we can afford it.. all of these thoughts and questions can keep one from ever attaining what they have always dreamed of... so we decided.
It is time to take a leap of faith. Walt once told us that, "All of our dreams can come true if we have the courage to pursue them". The key words "if" we have the "courage" to "pursue" them and Walt couldn't be more correct. Our dreams will never come true if we don't go for them.
Shawn and I decided it's time. We haven't been happy living where we are for many many years and the one place that means so much to us and is a daily part of our life and our hearts is Disney.
So, January 2013 we are WDW, Florida bound as we relocate to the most magical place on earth!!

Don't get me wrong as much as I am excited, their is also the nervousness and tendenscy to be scared. But, we wouldn't be normal if we indeed didn't feel that way. Of course being here since we were very little and both of our parents being here as well does make it very bittersweet.

Planning is key when relocating in such a big way such as this. Their are many things you must do and prepare for as you take the leap. First is housing, this can be very difficult and it also time consuming trying to find exactly what you are looking for. The great thing today is that we have internet which allowed of us to do everything from home and I can happily say that we will be 6 minutes from the main Walt Disney World Gate! I learned that it was easier to write every question down that we had and insured that every detail was answered. So many things must be taken into account, housing, jobs, ect but with the proper planning and financial stability and the want to make your dreams come true, anyone can live their happily ever after. Walt also told us that, "If we can dream it, we can do it". Life is too short to be anything but happy. It's time for us to follow our dreams and write the next magical chapter of our life.... and we are so excited and ready! I am starting this blog as mine and Shawns journal as we follow our dreams to Walt Disney World and live in the magic of Disney everyday. Here we will be able to share our daily life and adventures of our daily life in Florida surrounded by the magic :)
